To Nakoda Lodge from Calgary

  • Allow 50 minutes from the western edge of Calgary
  • Travel west on Highway #1 (Trans Canada Highway) towards Kananaskis Country
  • Turn north (right) at the Morley Road (Exit 131) and proceed through the town of Morley to the 1A Highway
  • Turn left (west) onto the 1A Highway (towards Banff).
  • Nakoda Lodge is located 16 kms from Morley on the left hand side of the highway.

To Nakoda Lodge From Lake Louise, Banff And Canmore

  • Allow 1 and half hours from Lake Louise
  • Allow 40 minutes from Banff and 25 minutes from Canmore
  • Travel east on Highway #1 (Trans Canada Highway) towards Calgary
  • Approximately 50 km east of Banff or 25 km east of Canmore, exit onto ‘South Ranch Road (Exit 114 Seebe/Exshaw Hwy 1X)
  • Then turn left (north) towards Seebe/Exshaw.
  • Drive 3 km and turn right (east) on the 1A Highway.
  • Nakoda Lodge is located 6 km from the turnoff on the right hand side.

Directions to Hydra Riverbase

for the Kicking Horse River

From the east. (Lake Louise, Banff, Calgary)

Travel west on the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy #1) past Banff and past the Lake Louise turnoff. Keep on the highway and you will pass a town called Field, approx 20 minutes after field you will leave Yoho National Park. Take the next right turn onto Beaver Foot Road (via underpass, off hwy). Look for Hydra signage. Cross over railway tracks and then over a bridge. Turn right onto Kicking Horse Road. Our site is the first driveway on the right, past the cabins with red roofs. Look for the Hydra sign.

From the west. (Golden, Revelstoke)

From the west (Golden, Revelstoke)Take Hwy #1 East. Pass through the town of Golden. We are located approximately 25 kms or 20 minutes from Golden. Look for a right hand turn called Beaver Foot Road. (A gravel road to your right). Turn right down Beaver Foot Road. Cross over railway tracks and then over a bridge. At the first intersection, turn right onto "Kicking Horse Rd". Our site is the first driveway on the right, past the cabins with the red roofs. Look for the Hydra sign.

*Don't forget: Golden is on Mountain Standard Time (same as Alberta).
