On the Kicking Horse river you’ll experience world-class white water, spectacular mountain scenery and memories to last a lifetime in the unparalleled beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Less than 1 and a half hours from Banff you’ll find large, soaking waves and numerous rapids that range up to Class 4, offering a thrilling and fun day for you and your friends or co-workers.

Departs:

  • 8:45 am and 2pm daily (May 22nd - Sept 11th)

Where to meet:

  • Meet near Golden, BC - 3 hour drive from Calgary

Itinerary and highlights:

  • Scenic views of the Rocky Mountains
  • Up to Class 4 rapids, big waves and big action
  • Long sections of whitewater, the biggest and most rapids in the area
  • Professional photos of your trip available for purchase at the RiverBase Daylodge.

Your tour includes:

  • River time: 1.5 - 2 hours (Whitewater Exciter) and 2.5 - 3 hours (Full Day)
  • Professional River Guide with each boat - who will explain and demonstrate paddle, safety and emergency techniques
  • All safety equipment: wetsuits, lifejacket, helmet, rainjacket, wetsuit booties and gloves
  • Dryland safety instruction
  • Practice paddling on the river before the waves
  • Lunch included on Full Day trip, light snacks on Whitewater Exciter

Remember to bring:

  • Swimsuit - have it on under your clothes prior to your trip for added convenience
  • A towel and a bag - to hold your personal belongings whilst you’re out on the river
  • A warm fleece or wool sweater - to wear on the river (no cotton), it will get wet.
  • A toque/beanie/wooly hat - on cold days for under your helmet, it will get wet.
  • Clothes suitable for the day - all your personal belongings will be left in your vehicle or in your personal bag while you are rafting.
  • Contact lenses - are OK if you are comfortable swimming in them, please tell your guide.
  • Sunscreen - great on a hot day, avoid putting it above or near your eyes.
  • Medical Concerns - please bring any medication you may need and inform your guide of any medical condition.

Restrictions:

  • Price does not include transport
  • Cameras - do not bring your camera on the raft unless it is waterproof. Same day action photo CDs and disposable waterproof cameras are for sale at reasonable prices
  • Glasses or sunglasses - are not recommended unless secured by eyeglass holders or retainers.
  • Valuables - best left behind in your hotel or car.
